Who We Are

Once famously described as "Two idiots from the south!" Brent Ellis and Mark Baggett co-own and fully manage The Navigation Inn.
 
We bought the business in June 2004 having given up careers in marketing and the media to pursue a long held ambition to run a country pub.  Although complete novices in the hospitality industry we have learned much in our tenure and are still learning!  Our ambition 'to create the kind of place we would want to eat and drink in' remains the same.

We are ably assisted by the kitchen team of highly respected chefs, plus waiters, bar staff and cleaners without whom none of this would be possible. Last, but certainly not least are Belle and Sebastienne, our two German Shepherds who are responsible for Navigation Inn security and barking at dogs who have the cheek to venture onto 'their' tow path, from the safety of their upstairs vatage point.  Sebby, five years old and currently Head of Security is determined to keep her job despite the upstart inclinations and over ambition of her Deputy Head, 2 year old Belle.  Youngsters, pah!
