The canal is currently closed between Queen’s Head and The Navigation Inn.  If you would like to visit The Navigation Inn it is about 30 minutes walk from Queen’s Head.  Alternatively, if you would like to join us to eat, transport will leave the car park opposite The Queen’s Head at 5.45pm, returning from The Navigation Inn at 9pm.  The cost is £2.50 per person for the return trip and this will entitle you to your first drink for free (pint, 125ml glass of wine or soft drink) when enjoying a meal with us.  This service will only run if it has been prebooked - bookings must be made on 01691 672958 NO LATER than 4pm, and the service will only run with a minimum of 4 people.  This facility will run from Tuesday - Thursday.  For transport at the weekend why not come down by horse boat?  Call 07941 429980 for more details.

If you are passionate about great beers, fine wines and innovative menus offering the very best local cuisine… congratulations you’ve successfully navigated yourself to The Navigation Inn.

Situated on the banks of the Montgomery Canal which crosses the ancient border of England and Wales, this historic stone, brick and slate building is home to a friendly village pub offering classic home cooked food, perfect for that special occasion, romantic cosy night out or a pie and a pint at lunchtimes!

Offering a choice of quality food made from locally sourced produce and freshly prepared on the premises along with an ever-changing selection of British real cask ales, cider and a truly international wine cellar the Navvy offers something for everybody’s tastes.

We can't stand those stuffy country pubs with signs on the door saying 'NO DOGS' and 'NO MUDDY BOOTS'.  At The Navvy well behaved dogs, children and walkers are all welcome!  Dogs are allowed in the bar area, and are welcome to sit by your table whilst you eat as long as they are kept under control and do not cause a disturbance to other guests.  Children of all ages are also welcome in the bar and dining room, but once again we ask they they do not run around the building unsupervised.

Let's go to The Navvy - they welcome dogs! You drive, I'll navigate!
